The building has undergone several renovations to update technology and add classrooms, a science lab, a multi-purpose cafeteria/auditorium, a gym, and media center. This K-6 elementary school offers a nurturing learning environment to all of its students and focuses on early literacy and math readiness skills. The school was completed in 1968 but went through several renovations and upgrades during the 1980s and 1990s to add extra classrooms, a gym, a cafeteria, an updated media center, and new art and music rooms. Maplewood students learn in a safe and nurturing environment and makes sure all learning styles are taken into consideration. This elementary school serves students from Kindergarten through 6th Grade but also includes one preschool class. Garden City students have the opportunity to join in activities such as Science Bowl, Math Bowl, Student Council, Fit Club, and Spell Bowl. This three-story building also includes a gym, a cafeteria, art and music rooms, and a stage.
The school has an updated computer lab, and every classroom contains a mini lab of five computers. By giving students individual attention, teachers hope to influence their students to be lifelong learners. Garden City Elementary School teaches Grades K-6 while focusing on its research- and standards-based curriculum and instruction. Chapel Glen students can take part in the Math Bowl, Spell Bowl, Battle of the Books, Recorder Ensemble, Jump Rope Club, Folk Dancing and more. Today, Chapel Glen boasts an updated large instruction room, a cafeteria, a media center, art and music rooms, and a gym. Originally set up as an open-concept school during the 1970s, the building added walls and renovations to convert it back to a traditional style during the early 1990s. Students are able to join in an array of co-curricular and extracurricular activities such as Spell Bowl, Science Club, Choir, Girls Club, Family Fitness Night, Art Club, and a number of other fun activities. Chapelwood underwent a $7 million renovation to include upgrading the school’s technology base and also adding four new classrooms and a new cafeteria. At this elementary school, teachers and staff focus on the core subjects and the importance of living in a global society. Students here have the opportunity to join in Choir, Art Club, or Gym Club.Ĭhapelwood Elementary strives to make lifelong learners out of their K-6 students.
